Old School Music Favorites

Hey everyone, so every year for Thanksgiving my family and I go up the the Dallas Fort Worth area to spend thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family. So with the impending three hour drive I decided to find my iPod (I don't put music on my phone because I only have an 8 gig) and see what music I have for the trip. What I found was a bunch of songs I used to listen so I'm going to share some of my old (new) favorite with y'all!

Crash by You Me At Six: Now let me preface this by saying that YMAS was/is one of my favorite bands ever, I could listen to every single song a million times and never get tired of it but I chose this song in particular because there was a solid three months where I only listened to this song, not because it had some special deep meaning about love to me, I honestly just liked it a lot. It is a song about love but it's also one of those songs that you can't describe and do it justice.

Holidays (feat. Alan Palmo) by Miami Horror: To be completely honest, I don't even remember how I found this song but I loved it instantly. It's a song that just captures the essence of summer, so if you're either in the midst of summer and need to a new summer song or you're in the middle of fall/winter and want to pretend like it's the middle of summer and you have no responsibilities, then this is your song.

Good Things by The Dangerous Summer: If you're ever in the need of a pick me up, this song will help. I cannot tell you how many times I listened to this song when I was having a bad day. This song was just a reminder that good things will come my way. (Also it was between this and something from The Wonder Years and that just makes me think of the every pop punk vocalist video)

Spanish Sahara by Foals: If you've watched Misfits (if you haven't, you really should) then you've probably heard it, that's where I heard it and I loved it so much I googled it and downloaded the whole album (oops?). Anyway, this song is so chill and relaxing and then it gets going when you're over the relaxing bit. Total Life Forever is just a bunch of awesome songs too so I'd give it a listen if you haven't.

Little Secrets by Passion Pit: Okay okay, I know what you're going to say, I know everyone has heard this song but I totally forgot about it until I saw Passion Pit at ACL this past October. I love it just as much as I did when I first heard it, so if it has been a while go listen to it! And if you're the one person that hasn't heard it go listen to it!

Casimir Pulaski Day by Sufjan Stevens: I really only listened to this song because a boy in a band I liked liked it and now I have a tattoo of another Sufjan Stevens lyric. This song is very mellow and will put you in a relaxed mood, or even to sleep if you want, as long as you don't really listen to the lyrics, they're sad I'm sorry.

By Your Hand by Los Campesinos!: This is another one of those "I heard one song and bought the whole album" instances, I really need to stop doing it. This song is up beat and fun to sing along to, as long as you avoid actually thinking about the lyrics. The whole Hello Sadness album is amazing, if you're into what the title suggests, sadness.
