Due to the fact that I was reminded of their songs recently I've been on a major early to mid 2000s and music my sister showed me kick lately. I've been listening to huge throwbacks but one of the biggest has been The Academy Is... and y'all Y'ALL I actually remember listening to them after my sister told me about them on Purevolume and please tell me I'm the only one who remembers Purevolume, that was my shit.
Honestly I attribute my music taste to my sister, she was the one that introduced me to My Chemical Romance and The Used which were probably my very first favorite bands and deserve their own month of MM. Anyway good ol' LRob showed me The Academy Is... and I think Everything We Had was one of the first songs I put on my very first iPod. This is some of the music that shaped me into who I am that day and I'm still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or not.
Anyway I thought I'd relive some of the glory years with The Academy Is... and who knows maybe I'll have a throwback post every month. Anyway thanks for reading and if you remember things like Buzznet (not Buzzfeed) and classic Fueled By Ramen and how killer Fuse used to be, then this one is for you!
After the Last Midtown Show was the song that reminded me of them and this song might kill me a little. If you haven't heard this song yet, I urge you to listen. Plus I may or may not be getting a tattoo of a lyric from this song...maybe.
